You have chosen the Season and the Date.
What is the next step?
You will marry in about 12 months the next step to do is:
Define a budget.
How to do that?
Here your budget items:
- Venue
- Banqueting
- Photographer
- Bride Dress
- Groom suite
- Accessori
- Wedding Invites, save the date and Thanks Cards
- Favors
- Floral Design
- Car
- Wedding Animations
- Music, like a DJ or a Band
- SIAE (in Italy)
- Wedding Planner
- Wedding Cake
Minor budget’s items:
- Wedding Dog Sitter
- Hotels
- Transport arrangements for the guests
- Fireworks
Whatever wedding style you choose, you will need to set a budget to stick to.
Set priorities.
The Photographer must be amazing, because the photos are the only memory able to excite you after years.
The Photographer is the only voice on which I advise you not to save, ever!
Wedding’s Rings: they too will be a perpetual memory of your Wedding. Wedding’s Bon Ton says that they should be gifted by witnesses, but some Brides&Grooms prefer to buy the rings themselves, especially if they decide for something with a particular design.
What to Save on?
Favors. There are so many solutions that you can find the best value for money.
Wedding’s Invites. You can find so many tipes of design and materials to choose from that you will be able to have the perfect design for your wedding.
Bride Dress. You can save this budget’s item if your relatives gift it to you .
Groom Suite: This is my little secret, which I reveal only during the first meeting with the couple. We will have the opportunity to talk about it in front of a great cup of tea!
Reception. It is the most important item in your budget, it affects up to 60% on it. The only real way to lower the cost is to keep the list of your guests to a minimum. Invite only close relatives and friends.
What is the most effective way to keep your budget under control?
Hire a professional Wedding Planner can be an optimal solution. You can build your budget together with a pro, who knows all the services, who has a portfolio of trusted suppliers and knows how to save money where the couple are not willing to spend. You will also be helped to choose the various services in time, keeping track of all the individual budget’s items and avoiding last-minute expenses.
To all my couples I provide a spreadsheet made just to monitor all the wedding’s
expenses and calculate the best budget.
The first step in your Wedding List is done!
